Adrienne Hartzell, Executive Director

New Philharmonia Orchestra Executive Director, Adrienne Hartzell, has been in her position since the inception of the New Philharmonia in 1995. Her background is diverse as she holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from New England Conservatory of Music as well as a JD from Suffolk University School of Law. An active cellist as well, Adrienne is a member of Boston Baroque and performs in a wide variety of chamber ensembles and as a freelance musician throughout New England. Adrienne has appeared on numerous recordings with Boston Camerata, Boston Baroque and the Zamir Chorale. In addition, she is a former faculty member of the Wellesley College Department of Music and of the All Newton Music School. Her current associations in the orchestra/arts management world include Treasurer of the New England Orchestra Consortium and a member of the Group C Steering Committee at the League of American Orchestras as well as the steering committee of the Newton Cultural Alliance, working to bring the arts and cultural organizations of Newton MA together to better serve the community. A native of California, Adrienne is a long time resident of Newton and in her spare time enjoys working on the restoration and refurbishment of her Victorian period home in Auburndale.
